In October 2012 I will participate in the Queenstown Heritage and Arts Festival, Tasmania. five projects by local and interstate artists have been commissioned for the three day festival by Inflight Gallery Hobart. I have proposed a series of pop-up kitchen performances in different locations over the weekend that offer nostalgia food, desire food, and conceptual food referencing local history and the centenary of the Mt Lyell mine disaster which is the theme of this years biennial festival.

I have received confirmation that I’m in the Echigo-Tsumari Triennial 2012, Japan. This will be a community collaboration residency working with local food history in the Echigo mountains. The curators of ArtFront wanted an artist who works in performance and with food. This project will halve my 2 month residency in Iceland with the option to return for the month of February 2013, a happy coincidence being that is the time of Thuroblot, Iceland’s traditional food festival.

In 2015 I will have a solo exhibition at the Albury Regional Art Gallery (date to be confirmed due to potential renovations of the gallery). The goal is to expand on work produced from three major performance projects undertaken between June 2012-June 2013, two international and one local that explore community collaboration, community engagement and community participation strategies. For this upcoming exhibition I aim to engage with the Albury community on the topic of food security, drawing on their regional identity as the agricultural food bowl of Australia, within the ecologically delicate environment of the Murray River Basin.

A live performance will be held at WMD118STUDIOS on the 16th of November. Phantom in the Mix is an experimental project that involves eight people, six eating and two feeding.  This experimental dinner is informed by A Tactile Dinner Party, a performance in the form of a recipe from the Futurist Cookbook by F. T. Marinetti exploring tactile pleasures and feasting with the senses.

In June-July 2012 I will undertake my first international residency in Iceland. The Nes Artist Residency program in the village of Skagastrond has a studio for artist from around the world within a former fish processing plant. During this time I will research for a performance event to be presented at the conclusion of the residency, focusing on the local history of seafood processing, the changing role of tradition, and the manifestation of contemporary ritual.
