This collage work was created as the title for a performance intervention during the food & art event ‘(lt) x ides’. A collaborative project between curator Laura Thompson https://instagram.com/lt_contemporary/ and chef Peter Gunn of ides restaurant http://www.idesmelbourne.com.au/
Over five courses Peter and his staff presented a menu responding to five artists, with each dish relating directly to their work.
As it appeared on the menu #brandispublicenemyno1 established a link between this collage work posted on Instagram and a performance intervention on the dessert course. For this work I use fast food and confection wrappers in my ongoing investigation into ritual and marks of identity in relation to historical and contemporary eating habits.
